Let’s be honest: Terrell Owens may be the easiest target in all of sports. He couldn’t be an easier kill if he wore a big bullseye on his back that read, “Shoot Me, I Dare You!”
And the thing is he has no one else to blame with the antics he’s pulled against his teams and teammates over the years.
That said, T.O. could actually be in the right on this latest contrived flap within the Dallas Cowboys house. ESPN broke a story Thursday claiming Owens has been spewing straight hateration on his quarterback Tony Romo and tight end Jason Witten. Owens is said to be upset that Romo is locking in on Witten, his BFF, sometimes to the detriment of the team. It’s taken a toll on America’s Team, the preseason favorites to win it all this season.
But here is the problem: the source ain’t T.O. And since when have we ever needed a source to announce T.O. isn’t happy? The word is Witten may have actually leaked the fallout to the media, which might be the reason the two reportedly got into over the weekend.
The outspoken and often outlandish receiver has worn his emotions on his sleeve his entire career. Don’t see that changing now.
The best remedy for all the in-fighting seems to be winning, which is what the Cowboys did during Sunday night’s 20-8 critical win over the New York Giants. And when it was all over the feuding threesome was all smiles.

My 1st reaction to this story was, “T.O.’s at it again.” However, as more details of the story came out, it seems as if this dude may actually have a valid “Beef”. Especially if other receivers are complaining. T.O. is a target and even if he’s right, the media will always paint him as being a “selfish, self serving punk”.I wonder if any other teams will touch him after this.
> Carl Elliott
we’ve explored the knuckleheads like plax burress, pac man jones, oj, etc but i think t.o. gets a bad rap. he might be in perpetual need of a hug and he might complain and be a head case, but he’s never been in trouble with the law, as far as i know.
it’s sad that his histrionics put his accomplishments on the back burner because he is, without a doubt, one of the greatest receivers in the history of the game.
> bookman
I agree with both Carl and Bookman. T.O. is a lot different than most brothas we will encounter. No doubt. And in the past he hasn’t been a very good teammate. But in this situation his frustration was valid. Even more to the point, it was handled the way it was supposed to be: in house. Witten apparently made it public and T.O. was left being blamed for the fallout. He becomes an easy target because of his past and that is wrong. Give this man a break and let him be a star football player.
