Dude, Are you for real?
When the Pittsburgh Steelers visit the White House as Super Bowl champions on Thursday, they’ll be without their reigning defensive player of the year.
Linebacker James Harrison has said the trip is no “big deal” and he’ll skip it again after not making the trip following the Steelers’ title in 2006. “If you want to see the Pittsburgh Steelers, invite us when we don’t win the Super Bowl,” he told Pittsburgh’s WTAE-TV. “So as far as I’m concerned he would have invited Arizona if they had won.”
Harrison, a five-year veteran, recorded a career-high 16 sacks during the 2008 season. He agreed to a six-year, $51 million extension in April, two months after the Steelers capped the season with a 27-23 triumph over the Cardinals. Harrison joked perhaps he’ll join his teammates for the trip in six years — when they don’t win a title and have “10, 11 rings.”
”I don’t feel the need to actually go,” he said of the visit with President Barack Obama. “I don’t feel like it’s that big a deal to me.”
The Steelers had no comment Monday about Harrison’s comments. Steelers chairman Dan Rooney was an early supporter of Obama’s and has been nominated to be the U.S. ambassador to Ireland.

That´s Mr. Harrison right. In the historical sense i think it would be something Mr. Harrison would want to do to meet the first black person to ever head the white house. In the political sense it would not thrill me to meet Mr. Obama i have very very little love for politicians and Mr. Obama is a politicians So yes Mr. Harrison haves the right to his opinion.

This guy’s an idiot.
> Bill
That is just arrogance and stupidity at it’s finest. His millions could not buy him an ounce of class.
> Karyn
I agree with Butch, he does have that right but–Regardless of the color or race of The President Of the United States of America, he was invited to the white house, out of respect i would have gone. In my opinion he’s still and idiot,
> Sheila
DUH idiot. Of course he would have invited Arizona if they won. That’s kind of what happens when you WIN THE SUPERBOWL! What does he want President Obama to just invite his favorite people or something? How else would you separate teams to invite. I hate it when ignorant black people reinforce the idea that black male athletes are stupid.
> Bryce
Only a name dropper and someone worried about image and class would be excited about meeting the president after winning the super bowl. It’s not like he’s going there to talk about issues and policies. He’s going there for a photo op and a free picture. To be invited to the White House after winning the super bowl is more like a player meeting a football fan than two adult people concerned with the world having an in depth conversation. If the president is a true fan of the Steelers he can have them over anytime and not just be a sunny day fan.
> Rendy
ok, first of all, i know many white people such as “Butch” and “Rendy” are pleased by this ignorant football player’s comments, but us proud black people recognize that he is an IDIOT.
> Mr. Tibbs
Here’s what I think about that. We live in a free country and if your pursuit of happiness is not to hob nob with politicians or anyone else ahve a nice day.
