Blackpower.com is designed to promote intelligent, out-the-box, thought-provoking discussion of issues from a variety of black perspectives, Black Power challenges the myth of monolithic black thought. News, commentary, and opinion blend with satire, music and multi-media technology to create a unique online destination devoted to the totality of the black experience.
“Black Power” will not be the same thoughts by the same folks. We cross all generational, socio-economic, educational, political, and geographic lines to present a complete 360 degree picture of what it is to be Black in America. Black Power aims to be an unprecedented and refreshing departure from traditional journalism, raising the profile of black voices in mainstream media and engaging anyone interested in black culture around the world.

Jam Donaldson is a writer and attorney who is best known for writing and producing the TV series, “We Got To Do Better†on BET and creating the popular website hotghettomess.com. Her blog “Conversate is Not a Word†was recently nominated for “Best Culture Blog of the Year†by the Black Webblog awards. She most recently worked as a legal aid attorney representing low-income residents in civil matters. She is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center.
ERICKA BLOUNT DANOIS

Ericka Blount Danois has written about race, culture, the arts, and music for a variety of publications including; The Source, Vibe, The City Sun, JazzTimes, The New York Times, and The Washington Post, among others. She has profiled and interviewed artists and musicians such as Nas, Olu Dara, Quincy Jones, James Mtume, and Horace Silver. She is a professor in the Telecommunications Department at Morgan State University and a graduate of Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism.
JAMAL KELLY
Associate Editor
A native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Jamal Kelly moved to Washington DC after obtaining his bachelors degree from Indiana University. With plans of attending law school, Jamal worked as a Legal Assistant for one the nations largest insurance litigation firms. Feeling his talents would be better serviced educating youth, Kelly abandoned his ambition of becoming a highly paid lawyer and began teaching first graders in one of the most crime driven and drug-infested areas of “The Chocolate Cityâ€. He later went on to complete a MBA in Marketing, and landed a job as Marketing Manager for a large internet property.
ALIS ADJAHOE
Operations Manager
Alis Adjahoe, obtained an accounting degree from Southern University of New Orleans. She currently resides in Maryland. She had a flourishing career in accounting and after 10 years she realized that she wanted to try something new. After many months of contemplation and encouragement from her peers, she took a brief hiatus from the corporate world to pursue her interest in media and communications.
