Google Releases Voice Search App for IPhone

By Black Power Staff

By Michael Lang

For all of you iPhone lovers out there like me do you sometimes struggle typing on the touch-screen keyboard? I mean, wouldn’t it be easier to voice your search versus typing it? Well, according to the AppleInsider that issue has been resolved by our favorite search engine Google. The New York Times is reporting that Google has officially released their Voice Search App to the Apple iTunes store for download this past Friday! The app itself is not a stand-alone app, but rather is integrated with some of Google’s other services. The app is only compatible with the iPhone and the iPod touch and requires the iPhone 2.0 software update. After testing out the app on my iPhone I found it very easy to use while being quick and intuitive. Just make sure you speak clearly and don’t use any Ebonics!!

Here is how it works: tap the application and you’re told that “Google” would like to use your current location. You click “OK” to allow the application to find your current location or click don’t allow. From there to voice search, you just bring the phone to your ear and speak into the small microphone button found to the right of the app’s search bar and wait for the results which come in a standard Google search page. If searching for a location, you get the standard Google search page along with local results and a map. If the app doesn’t recognize what you said, it prompts you to either speak again or to cancel the process. Unbelievable I know, but it truly is that easy to use. Some of the cool features included with this release are web site shortcuts, your search history, and fast access to Google services like Mail, Earth, Photos, Talk and Reader. The app works best will American English accents, but look for other languages to be released by Google in the near future.

“The app works best will American English accents?” American English, period, would have been acceptable.

The cpu is tagged as slightly newer design amount but it and the GPU are most likely the similar pace as the 3GS. The old Contact using the same Processor and GPU as the 3G was quicker. Besides getting the clock pace turned up greater the Contact has less software programs to run since it
